Kelsea Ballerini Talking With Cosmopolitan About How Taylor Swift Helped Her Find Her Voice

I absolutely LOVE this video from Cosmo about Kelsea Ballerini.  If you haven’t watched this clip yet, then you need to do it before you read the rest of this article because it truly says it all about how awesome Taylor Swift and her music really is.  She’s a huge inspiration and has been so since her first album was released in 2006.  She’s just who she is, you know?  She’s Taylor Swift.  And that’s what has helped so many new country stars come to the scene shining including Miss Kelsea Ballerini.

Kelsea loved many country superstars such as Taylor Swift, Shania Twain and Faith Hill and wanted to write and sing like their style but soon found out the not so easy way that she had to find herself first and find a style that was her very own as well as her music style.  Why?  Because everything she had written and sang was already done and already sung and nobody wanted to hear anything more about it.  And after a little while, finding and singing her own style she did which landed her a publishing deal and two albums later, she is an award-winning female country music artist.

So, what kind of advice does Kelsea give in this interview?  She said that, ‘she thinks it’s okay to love other artists and to take notes from them and learn from them but she thinks discovering what you want to say in your voice is the most important thing you can do as an artist–especially as a female.’

Do YOU like Kelsea Ballerini and her music?  What do you think about Taylor Swift’s former influence on country music?  Give me your opinions and comment in the comment box below.
